Choosing a Betting Strategy in Blackjack

When sound betting strategies are used while playing blackjack, one can increase their chances of more winnings. If one does not use sound money management systems, one can end up losing more than they can afford to lose.

Splitting and doubling down can significantly result to a large amount of bonuses for the blackjack player. However, there are betting strategies that can result to more winnings for the player.

One strategy used for betting in blackjack is called the Martingale system. This strategy involves doubling one's losses in the next bet. For example, if one loses $10 in a game, the player then bets $20 in the next game. The aim of this strategy is to recover the losses in the previous game by betting twice as much in the next blackjack round.

Another strategy is called the reverse Martingale system. In this strategy, the player doubles the bet after winning the previous game. For example, if a player wins $5 in a previous game, the player then bets $10 in the next game. This strategy suggests that doubling the bets can only be done after a win. The rationale behind this is that there may be a lucky streak and that chances are the player is also going to win in the next game. The thinking also here is that one is only risking losing what they have already won. Many blackjack players do not agree with this strategy since this could mean wasting all their winnings in one game.

Still another strategy involves setting a minimum and maximum bet for a round of blackjack. For example, a player can set the minimum at $10 and maximum at $20. If one loses in the previous game, one bets the minimum. In our example, it means betting $10 after a loss. On the other hand, if one wins in the previous game, one then bets the maximum in the next game. That means betting $20 in the next game, in our example. This system is very simple but found to be quite effective.

Finally, another strategy in blackjack is through the use of a mathematical system to determine the amount of bets. This system is used by betting the set minimum during the first game and then increasing the bets only after winning. If a game is lost, the player then returns to the minimum bet for the next game. For example, a player may start betting at $5. If one wins, then the bet may be increased to $10 and then $15. But in case one loses, the bet is then set to $5 again. This is the strategy most often used by expert blackjack players.

A blackjack player, whether beginner or advanced, can choose among the betting strategies enumerated above. The key is to try the different strategies and choose one that a player is most comfortable with and one that gives the most winnings.
