Inside Betting and Outside Betting in Roulette

Roulette is a popular gambling game that is composed of a special kind of wheel, a small white ball, and a table. In the European version of this game, the wheel has thirty-six numbered pockets, colored an alternating black and white, and one green pocket with the color green. The American version of this game has thirty-eight pockets, and has two green colored pockets, numbered zero and double zero. The wheel is spun in one direction, and the croupier -or casino employee- places the ball on the wheel, and sets it spinning in the opposite direction. The winning number is determined when the ball lands in the winning number's pocket.

The roulette table is how croupiers can organize and keep track of gamblers' bets. The roulette table usually has a cloth covering with the numbers on the wheel arranged in numerical order, starting with zero, and ending with thirty-six. These numbers are arranged in three rows of twelve numbers each. A roulette table also often has areas designated for the kinds of bets that gamblers might want to make.

There are many different types of bets for a person to try when playing roulette. The two main types of bets that a person can make with roulette are "inside" bets, and "outside" bets. When a person makes an outside bet, they usually bet, not on a single number, but on a group of numbered pockets, a color, or on whether or not the ball will land on an odd or an even number. If a person makes an inside bet, they are usually betting on a particular number, or a range of pockets that have been arranged in a particular position.

The chances of winning with an outside bet are usually much higher than when a person makes an inside bet. This means that the payout of an outside bet is often smaller than that of an inside bet's. For example, one particular kind of outside bet is the column bet, where a person can bet on all the numbers that have been arranged in a single column in the roulette table.

The odds to winning this particular sort of bet are 2.167 to one. This means that if a person should win a game of roulette playing a column bet, their winnings will be two dollars for every one dollar they had originally wagered. On the other hand, an inside bet that has the highest chances of winning is the Six Line bet. A Six Line bet is when a person bets on any six numbers that have been arranged in two horizontal rows. The odds of winning this sort of bet are 5.33 to one. This means that a person will get back five times the amount that they had originally put in.
